Meet the Coach
Mitch Gill is the founder of Gill Training Systems and an experienced athletic trainer. He spent years working at a large high school with over 2,000 students and 600–700 student athletes, where he developed a practical, no-nonsense approach to strength training, conditioning, and injury prevention.
His philosophy is simple: move well first, then move strong and often. Whether working with high school athletes, weekend warriors, or everyday people dealing with the aches of a desk job, Mitch brings the same direct, knowledgeable coaching style to every situation.
Through Gill Training Systems, he shares articles on corrective exercise, workout programming, youth athlete development, and rehabilitation — all grounded in real-world experience on the training floor.
"Move well first, then move strong and often!"
Background & Experience
Mitch completed his fourth year as an athletic trainer at a large high school by May 2017, managing the strength and conditioning needs of hundreds of student athletes across multiple sports. That environment shaped his belief that young athletes need more strength development and less early sport specialization.
His writing draws on years of hands-on work with athletes and general fitness clients alike. He has covered topics ranging from posture correction and back-pain solutions for desk workers to advanced conditioning protocols like Tabata, kettlebell swings, and single-leg Romanian deadlift progressions.
Mitch has referenced and engaged with the work of respected strength coaches including Mike Boyle, and his site reflects a commitment to evidence-informed, movement-based training principles.
